Lake Tahoe :: Jewel of the Sierras

"Live in the sunshine. Swim in the sea. Drink the wild air." -Emerson

After our first time in Tahoe, we constantly talk about going back. I could spend every day here. It would be so beautiful any time of year.

On our way to Reno/Tahoe, we stopped for a quick photo shoot visit at the Salt Flats. If you haven't made the 2 hour drive west of SLC to this beautiful piece of land, you must. It is so beautiful, especially when the skies are clear. And makes for some really fun photos.

Tahoe :: Jewel of the Sierras

Our first stop in Tahoe was a quick, steep hike to Eagle Rock. The sweeping panoramic view from this spot is so worth it.

We were visiting my sweet cousin, Jen, in Reno so her adorable family took us to Tahoe. Look at this gorgeous girl, Madison and her amazing, bright blue eyes.

After our hike, we had a little picnic on the beach with yummy meat, baked beans, and salsa.

^ Even though it was March, we had so much fun running in and out of the freezing cold water. We have the best gopro videos that I need to finish putting together!

These views of Tahoe kill me...so incredible. I have never been any place like this. No wonder it is called the Jewel of the Sierras - look at that emerald green water.

And on our way out of Tahoe (on the way to San Fran), we stopped by Burger Me in Truckee for the yummiest burgers and fries. Highly recommend this yummy joint!
