Welcome to {New York}

In June, Braden went with me to New York for a week for work. I am so glad he was able to come! It was amazing. We were able to relax during the week and really enjoy our time there and still see a lot of the city. I have been multiple times before but this was Braden's first time and I loved sharing this experience with him.

On our first day in the city, I kept singing "Welcome to New York! It's been waiting for you...." Yes, I do love Taylor. This trip was everything we could have dreamed of and more.

Church in the NYC Manhattan Temple - so fun!

^View from my desk at work - I love the city!

Evening strolls along the Hudson River - we were staying on the lower west side in the Financial District and I loved this pretty view along the river at nights.

^We happened to be there on the day of the Gay Pride Parade - so interesting! We made the mistake of trying to go to the Empire State Building this was an adventure to say the least.

Doughnut Plant
This place is definitely worth a try! They have a couple of locations in NYC. I do not love donuts but I love a good fluffy donut. These were so soft and melt-in-your-mouth.

Wafles and Dinges
We had to really scope this one out but so worth it! These waffles are so yummy.

Blue Dog Kitchen - Times Square
I think this place was easily one of our favorites. We went here for breakfast our first morning and it was a perfect way to start the day! Not too pricey but adorable and delicious. Look at that french toast! The smoothie was amazing too.

PB&Co - Washington Square
I had quite a few friends recommend this place and it was unique....but I wouldn't go back. There are so many yummy places to try in NYC.

Again, this place has multiple locations across the city. Let's just say we went here more than once. The burgers were to die for and everything was so fresh, not to mention organic. Do not miss this place next time you are in the city!

Statue of Liberty

Times Square

Central Park

I love central park. There is no place quite like it. A large, gorgeous park amidst some of the most incredible cityscapes. My favorite spots in Central Park are easily :: Bethesda fountain and Strawberry Fields by the lake.

^I adore the performers around the streets of NYC.

^Bethesda fountain

^Braden was so excited about the little model sail boats - they are so fun! This was one of his favorite spots in the park.

A trip to the city is not complete without a trip to the MET and Guggenheim. I have been to both before but love going again and again - plus it was fun to take Braden back.

The Guggenheim

Chelsea/The Highline

This is easily one of my other favorite spots in the city. The Highline is an elevated park built on deserted railroad tracks. There are several entrance points but the most well-known is close to the Chelsea Market. In the evening close to sunset, it is especially romantic. I love all of the art and thought that was put into designing the highline park.

Chelsea Market

Chelsea Market is fun. If you go for only one person, go for Los Tacos - they are inexpensive and absolutely mind-blowing. We could eat tacos here every night, they are truly that good.

Brooklyn Bridge

I constantly wanted to walk the Brooklyn Bridge on this trip - I had not been before and this has become one of my favorite spots, especially at sunset.

And of course you have to stop for some pizza under the Brooklyn Bridge. Grimaldi's is the most popular place to go but equally good is Juliana's. The line was not nearly as long and the pizza was divine. New York Pizza for the win!

And of course Brooklyn Bridge is just as incredible during the day.
