Best day of the year...{lights on!}

Lights on is one of our very favorite annual family traditions. The Lights On ceremony is every year the Friday after Thanksgiving at Gallivan Plaza. We usually get there around 2:30/3 and skate for a few hours, then at around 5pm, there is always a little ice skating show of some sort (this year it was an ice skating dance company with santa, in years past it has been some handicap kids wheeling around on the ice in their wheelchairs, all so fun). Then around 5:30pm, they have a kid from the Make A Wish Foundation push the red button to turn the lights on around the city. After Gallivan Plaza, we always go over to Temple Square to see the lights. Sometimes we stop for some dinner first at City Creek. I'll warn you, it is so busy but so worth it!

This year we didn't take as many pictures because it was so cold outside! And it may have also had something to do with the fact that I was about 10 weeks pregnant at the time... :) We love ice skating!

^ This year was so cold! Look at my cute mom reading her Richard Paul Evans book (another tradition) while we are skating.
