25th Birthday :: Our Mini Adventure

At 39 weeks pregnant, I knew my options were a little more limited but I was determined to still have a little adventure in celebration of my 25th birthday! I am officially a quarter century old. So cool! Life is so beautiful and I feel like I have done so much in my short life. I feel proud and content to be where I am and I am so excited to see what the next 25 years bring (no doubt devoted to growing our little family and raising cute kids).

A few months ago we decided kayaking would be a safe but adventurous activity. I was a little bummed when I found out it was going to be rainy but it did not stop us! In fact, I think the rain made it that much more fun. We went up to Causey Reservoir in the Ogden Valley for a few hours and it was so beautiful. My little sister came too and we had so much fun. It was so relaxing to just paddle around the lake...so peaceful.

Here is to 25 and the best years ahead! And of course many, many more adventures.

I just adore this handsome face.

On my actual birthday on Sunday, we went to church and then drove up to Silver Lake (Big Cottonwood Canyon) for a little walk around the lake. Braden entertained me by pushing around an empty stroller and carseat (with a cover) to test it out for baby. It worked great but Braden felt so awkward. It was hilarious! Such a beautiful, perfect sunny day.

Then for dinner, Braden made me the most amazing lemon garlic shrimp with mashed potatoes and roasted broccoli - it was spot on!

And we ended our meal with some amazing, light lemon cake. Such a perfect treat!

And a sweet note from my Braden to end the perfect weekend.
