3 Years :: Escape to the Mountains

Happy Anniversary, my love! These last three years with you have been the very best. I'm so glad we have eternity together because it just keeps getting better and better. You are the calm to my crazy and make me a better person everyday. I love you, my Braden!

We had the best anniversary. We decided to keep it a little more low-key this year given we just had a baby. The weekend before our anniversary, we went on a little dinner date to Log Haven. We had never been before

^ So fancy! It was so fun to dress up and wear a dress that was not nursing-friendly.

After dinner, we drove around Millcreek Canyon and then ended up on Wasatch Blvd to watch the sunset, one of our very favorite things to do together. It was magnificent and much-needed time alone.

The next morning, we went to the Salt Lake Temple to do some sealings and spent some time on the temple grounds. The flowers in favorite.

Our actual anniversary, August 2nd, was on a Tuesday so Braden went to work as usual and then that night, we went on an amazing little family hike up Millcreek Canyon to Mt. Aire. We love living in Millcreek and it is quickly feeling more and more like home.

The hike was beautiful, the sunset AMAZING, and we realized just how out of shape we are. We did not hike nearly as much this summer as we did last summer and we felt it. This was the longest hike we have done yet (~3 miles roundtrip) but it was pretty steap and it kicked our butts.

David had just started breastfeeding the week before and I felt so free. It was so nice to be able to go somewhere (on a hike, anywhere) without carrying a pump and bottles (I would have carried a manual pump for hiking).
