8 Months :: David Braden

8 months! I say this every month but where has the time gone?!

The other day, I came home from a friend's house and said "I'm home!" David starting making some happy noises and I popped my head in the other room and he started crawling/scooting towards me and then held out his arms for me to pick him up. That memory will forever be etched in my mind. The very best!

David slept 8 hours in a row for the first time on Friday night...it has not happened again since then but now I know he can sleep through the night.

He has officially nailed his pincer grasp (weeks ago) and he is eating more solid foods. We have primarily been focused on veggies but have given some fruits. He is doing so well and it is fun to watch him explore new foods! He still loves mama's milk best.

David has his first two teeth! They literally popped up both in the last few days. One night he was up all night and constantly screaming and the next night, there they were!

-Constantly on the move
-Scooting everywhere and recently started getting up on his knees and is so close to crawling
-More and more giggly, especially at nights after mom and dad pick him up from daycare
-In a new crowd of people, he is very "shy" and observant and it takes him a while to warm up to his usual giggly self
-Loves to watch home videos when he is grumpy
-Loves greens (like spinach), blueberries, and mangoes
-Loves and is on the look out for any and all cords
-Loves his room - he would roam it all day if we let him!

We love our Davy boy, he is our pride and joy! We love our Davy, yes we do. This little boy is our whole world!

Love is in the Air

"All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love." -Leo Tolstoy

My heart has never been so full.

We had the best Valentine's Day. I love my sweet baby Valentine and my sweet husband. Can life get any better?

I do feel Valentine's is an over-commercialized holiday (like so many have become) but I also ascribe to the motto "all you need is love" (what can I say, I'm an idealist) so what better than a holiday to celebrate love?

I think this was the first year that I had literally no expectations. And it was so nice. In years past, I expected the flowers, or the gift, or the massage, or the extravagant, well-planned date night but this year, we just went with it.  Braden has always over-delivered but it was even sweeter and more enjoyable without any expectations. I got Braden a sweet card and some chocolate and he brought me home a few bouquets of flowers from Trader Joe's (my fav!) and placed them in little bunches around the house.

My day started off working from home in the morning with my little love before a quick visit to the chiropractor (who doesn't love the chiropractor?!). He was so happy and it was so fun to hang out together. I sure love this little love bug and since he came into my life, my heart has grown by leaps and bounds. This is unconditional love.

The work day was quieter than usual and productive (best feeling!).

Braden came home a little early with baby boy and made a yummy dinner of crab and shrimp scampi. We ordered an amazing Valentine's day cake from Sugar Rush Custom Cake (support local!) and it made the evening feel a little more special. Not only did it look beautiful but it tasted amazing - chocolate fleur de sel and it was divine.

We ended the evening with a chick flick and some time together after baby was in bed. I cannot imagine a better way to celebrate our love.

I have never felt more blessed than I do now. Life gets better and better.

In preparation for Valentine's day, we took a little trip to Cactus and Tropical and it is my new favorite nursery. Their flowers and plants are incredible! Their decor was very festive and I think David was just as enamored by all the pretty plants.

And of course we had to attend Sarah's beautiful Valentine's party...she is the best host and always has the prettiest decor.
